Brief Description

This course is a continuation and expansion of skills students need to continue developing from what it was presented in Spanish 1, with emphasis on listening and speaking skills. Students will have opportunities to create with the language, first orally and then in writing, expanding on the high frequency situations of first year, including everyday routines, common events, and narrations of past and future actions. Learners are provided language-use activities that enable them to: function in everyday settings and in some informal situations; understand the overall meaning, key ideas, and some supporting details in informal texts; comprehend and produce oral and written sentences and strings of sentences.
In addition, this course aims to promote global citizenship and 21st century skills by providing the students with opportunities to think critically through constant analysis, comparison, and evaluation of content, culture, and language. The students will also have opportunities to work cooperatively with their classmates in the classroom. Also, the course integrates many learning technology tools that will help to promote the students’ technology literacy
