This is the second state in an integrated Spanish Language Arts program designed to provide Spanish speaking LEP students further development of Cognitive Academic Language proficiencies through instruction in reading and writing skills, with an emphasis on literacy enrichment. Spanish literature, language usage, vocabulary, writing, and reading skills are emphasized with a particular focus on written expression. Minimum proficiency skills as they are related to the Spanish language will be reviewed. This course will ultimately prepare students to transition into the Spanish Advanced Placement Program.
