This is a one-year course in which students are expected to achieve a reasonable level of fluency whereby they are able to express themselves both accurately and resourcefully in Spanish. In order to achieve this, students will be taught in a mostly monolingual Spanish environment which is devoted to the four main areas of language learning-listening, speaking, reading and writing. Authentic Spanish materials from many parts of the Spanish-speaking world are provided to supplement the textbooks in order to increase fluency as well as promote internationalism.
