Brief Description

IB Personal and Professional Skills 2 is a core, required component of the IB Career-related Programme, and must be completed in order for a student to earn an IB Career-related Certificate. IB PPS “is designed for students to develop attitudes, skills and strategies to be applied to personal and professional situations and contexts now and in the future.” IB PPS is designed around aims, learning outcomes, and five themes prescribed by the IB Organization, but is transferable to all different career contexts.The five themes are personal development, intercultural understanding, effective communication, thinking processes, and applied ethics. In addition, students in the IB PPS course will learn high-level academic research and writing skills, and use them in a culminating Reflective Project, which must be either an essay of 3000 words OR an essay of 1500-2000 words which is accompanied by an additional, creative presentation.
