Brief Description

This one-year course is entirely conducted in the French language and is intended for the students who have taken three years of French. It is designed to provide students with opportunities to refine and enhance their abilities to express themselves accurately and resourcefully both orally and in writing. Students will concentrate on developing their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills to be able to communicate clearly and effectively as they are exposed to many different types of situations, contexts, and materials. Students will be exposed to authentic materials from the French speaking countries so as to enrich their global awareness and promote the very nature of this programme which is internationalism. The French 4 AP/IB course is designed to train students to practice extensively the skills that they have previously acquired to develop fluency, to explore new complex concepts and structures and to demonstrate profound understanding of the different situations and contexts within the many cultures where the language is spoken. Students will be encouraged to participate in various activities to strengthen their four communication skills, enhance their vocabulary repertoire and increase their readiness for the formal AP/IB assessments.
