This course is designed for the identified limited-English proficient (LEP) student enrolled in
English 101. The students will learn basic oral communication skills while stressing vocabulary,
self-esteem, problem-solving and thinking skills, and acculturation. This course will also
emphasize the oral/aural skills of English 101. The student is expected to progress from following
simple oral directions in English to using appropriate English in every-day situations.
