The IB Economics/AP Macroeconomics course is designed as a general introduction to the
subject. The main areas are microeconomics and macroeconomics, international
economics and development. Special emphasis is given to the study of national income
and price determination, internationalism and development and an attempt is made to
relate what is covered in class to students’ experiences and the real world. Specific
examples of topics could include anything from unemployment and inflation, to problems of
less developed countries.
