College Algebra is a yearlong (two semester) course that focuses on the Number and Quantity, Algebra, Functions, Modeling and Geometry conceptual categories of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics while also integrating the Standards for Mathematical Practices. The Mathematical Practice Standards apply throughout the course and, together with the content standards, prescribe that students experience mathematics as a coherent, useful, and logical subject that makes use of their ability to make sense of problem situations.
