Computer Science A–Advanced Placement is an introductory course in computer science as a discipline and, in particular, a course designed to develop the knowledge and skills that are tested on the College Board’s Advanced Placement Computer Science examination.  As such, the course includes units on:
 the components of computer systems
 program design, implementation, and analysis
 standard algorithms and data structures
