This course is designed to provide students with the necessary skills and support to successfully complete a high school college-preparatory program, gain acceptance at a four-year college, and succeed in college. The course is in conjunction with the AEP, sponsored by UC Santa Barbara. Major areas of concentration are: Personal Skills (self-esteem, communication, conflict resolution), Study Skills (time management, listening, note taking, test taking, working with textbooks, writing, library skills), Reading (each student will be required to read a number of books from the AEP
Reading List), SAT/ACT preparation, preparing college applications and applications for financial aid.
