Brief Description

The 21st Century Skills for the Biliterate Student course was developed to establish a partnership between school and the Spanish speaking community. The course combines high-level critical thinking, writing, and analytical skills with project based experiences and implementation while giving students an opportunity to further explore interpersonal, presentational, and mass communications as they identify and address critical issues related to school-community climate. Students will become equipped with bilingual language skills that will help guide them towards careers in education, psychology, sociology, social work, law enforcement, counseling, and other family and education fields. The goal of this course is to create and maintain a positive campus environment in which students make real connections with each other, promote academic achievement, community service, and serve as role models for peers throughout their school site, district and community.
